Venice, Italy
August 6 & 7, 2002

On our first day in Venice, Dan and I didn't get to see much since it was our port of embarkation and we got in late at night.  We were picked up at the airport with a group of other passengers.  Of course, it took us some time before we were ready to go to the cruise ship because we had to file a lost luggage report.  Yep, Air France lost my luggage.  Of course, Dan's got there just fine, so while I didn't have my clothes, I did have all my lingerie from my shower the day. before the wedding since I had packed it with Dan's clothing.  Once we had filed the report, we went to the ship and bedded down for the night.

Because it had been night  when we landed in Venice (and our room faced away from Venice), the next day was our first chance to see the city of Venice.  We had a walking tour scheduled, but we had enough time to go to the top of the ship and look out over Venice.  Wow!  It was amazing.  Once we had the chance to walk around Venice, we were even more impressed.  There were tons of people all around, but that could take away from the wonderful vistas we were able to see on our walk.

After our tour, we walked down to the shuttle boat that would take us back to the ship.  Of course, we did take a little time for Dan to buy his first of many (many) European beers.  We even ran into two ladies that had been behind us in the lost luggage report line!

On to Athens, Greece
