Doilies

The gradual color change in this doily is the result of a technique called "threadpainting."  Each round is crocheted with three strands of sewing thread.  For each new round an old color of thread is removed and a new color added.

This pattern is from an old thread booklet my husband's grandmother had.

This doily is about 9" across at the widest point.

Made: 2003

This was my first pineapple doily.  I made it one day I needed something to work on and didn't feel like crocheting on one of my ongoing works-in-progress (and that is why I end up with so many different projects!).

This doily is about 7" across from side to size.

Made: 2002

(This isn't a good picture - I will try to get a better one soon).

I made this doily as a Christmas present for my mom.  The holly leaves took me a little bit longer to complete than I anticipated, so she actually got this the first week of January.

This pattern came from a Christmas doily booklet.  I cannot recall the name.

This doily measures about 12" across.

Made: 2000
