My first Princess-related page text:

"Do you think a cat can be made up of pure evil?  Princess is starting to convince Dan and me that she is one of those "special" cats.  But then she always loved my grandma, so I am sure she is going through a stressful time right now.  And already she is starting to adapt to being a Zimmermann.  She now only hisses and growls when Dan and I come in the bathroom with her.  Before she would scream and lunge at our ankles.   What can I say - she's a special cat."

A subsequent Princess-related post:

"Okay - I've got to eat my previous words.  I used to think Princess was one of those "special" cats made entirely out of evil.  But she's really turning into a sweetie.  Almost like a real kitty!  She will even meet us at the door sometimes and say "Hello" and get some love.  How neat is that?

She's even outgrown her initial nickname, Lucy... short for, your guessed it, Lucifer.  Hehe!

Princess was my grandmother's kitty and Ashes' littermate.  When my grandmother passed away in 2006, Princess came to live with Dan and me.  And boy, was she mean.  I wasn't sure how she was going to be in our family and honestly didn't think she'd outlast my grandmother by more than a few months.

Well, she surprised us and because a wonderful and even loving part of the family.  She'd even come into the bathroom with Dan and me every morning as we got ready and she would pat our legs to get attention.  How sweet is that?  She never became a fan of other people (the vet even had to knock her out to give her her shots), but she loved both Dan and me and we loved her.

Sure, we had some rough times at the beginning, but being loved by Princess was probably the coolest thing to date I've ever experienced.  She passed away on September 7th after a prolonged illness.  Pretty much, she gave up.  Nothing the vet or we could do could encourage her to eat and she wasn't a good candidate for a feeding tube.  She was happy and not in pain until the very end.  That final day, Dan and I decided to take her to the vet as she could no longer move.  She passed away on the drive to the vet.

We still miss her.
