Cocoa Infection

Cocoa went to the vet last week with the very beginning of a UTI. So she got an antibiotic shot and is much happier.

Unlike at the actual vet, where she wasn't happy at all.

She likes to hide when at the vet so she spent the whole trip on my lap under a towel. And we had to stay there 3 hours because she didn't have enough pee for them to test, so they pumped her full of fluids and waited for her bladder to get full.

She was not pleased.

But they finally got enough to test and yep, infection. So she got a shot and we got to go home so she's been (hopefully) healing this past week.

We haven't been able to retest her pee yet to make sure the UTI is gone - I tried all day yesterday but she just refuses to pee if she's put into the guest bathroom, especially when the litter box in there is filled with non-absorbent plastic pellets.

Not sure what we are going to do about that because it would be good to have her retested to make sure she's a-okay, but I don't think either of us are up to a repeat of the multi-hour vet adventure that was last Monday.

It's a vet-themed time of life.
