Chloe With a View

It's been several days since Chloe had her surgery and she's doing great. The first couple of days you could tell when she needed her pain medication but now she seems pretty great. She was even playing with the tennis ball yesterday so yay!

You can see her little incision below. Dan calls her little shaved spot around it her window.

The little white spots in the shaved area are tiny scars. Dan and I can't figure out what they are from though. Maybe other kitties clawing her back end as she's running away (because they do tend to pick on her)? Or maybe something that happened when she was a stray? No clue.

Anyway, under the incision on the surface, Chloe has two other layers of stitches - one in the muscle to close the hole in it that the fat herniated through and then through the layer of fat in between the muscle and skin. Because of this layering, we'll probably be able to feel the scarring once it has healed but that's okay. We prefer non-herniated Chloes, even if they have scars.

We keep the laundry basket balanced in between the washer and dryer and if there are towels in it (or anything else, really) Chloe loves to camp out in it. She's so cute!
