Ugh...

Ugh, I have grease burns in a splatter pattern on my left hand and wrist from where I dropped my borrowed candy/deep fryer thermometer in hot oil, ruining it; I have managed to spill almost 5 quarts of dirty water on my kitchen counter all at once, including on clean dishes drying in the dish drain; and my entire house is filled with smoke because the oil was too hot when I fried the fish because - of course - I didn't have a working thermometer.

On the plus side, I used my stand mixer to make hush puppies and 1) the mixer is very cool and 2) I can make some awesome hush puppies.

But I really could have done without the burns, spills, smoke and broken thermometer.
