The Specialness that is the Gidgie

This is love:

video

(Lord help us all - I've learned how to use my video editor).

You can't see it in the video, but Gidgie is drooling. (I have another video that you can see it a little in, but I turned the darn camera forgetting it was video (duh!) so the video is sideways as well as a little blurry, thus the lack of posting). When she gets really into her dancing (as you can see she is!), she starts drooling. First, it starts out as just extra moistness that you can only feel if she rubs her cheeks against your hand or something. But as her little dance continues, the drool gets to be more and more to the point where I drip will under her nose in that cute little split of a kitty's lip.

So you know you've got a happy Gidgie if she's cuddled next to you and your shirt is dotted with kitty drool. Like mine is now.

Aww.

That is so precious! One little book I had called it "makin' biscuits" because of the kneading action. I have heard they are more apt to do it if they have left their mom prematurely or if they are as comfy as in their kitten-hood, that it mimics what they do during nursing, another reason they drool. We had a neighborhood cat that would "knead" and suck on your tee shirt as he fell asleep if he was feeling friendly. So sweet.

Hehe - I've heard the "makin' biscuits" and think it is so cute. We call it "dancing" because Ashes will get really into it and keeps a beat so it looks like she is doing a little white man dance. And then it just carried over to calling it that when all the kitties do it.

Hmm, that's really interesting about why they knead. I had to go through all the kitties to see if it would fit. Bitty is the only one that we know for sure wasn't taken from her mom too soon (since she's still with her mom) and while she does "dance" she does it less than the others. Hmmmmm. Gidgie is the only one that really drools, though. Part of her charm. Hehe.
